Air Exchangers are out of site and out of mind. Modern homes have an air exchanger these days and most air exchangers in homes are full of mold and dust particles that are blowing throughout your home.
What Is an Air Exchanger used for?
Air exchanger are installed in most new homes today, they work with the existing HVAC system to ensure fresh air is coming into the home. At the core of the Air exchange there are small passage ways where the air gets warmed up with the stale air from inside the home. The stale air gets sent to the outside while the new air is sent to the inside.
How Often Should I Service my Air Exchanger?
Air Exchangers should by looked at by the homeowner after every change of season. At minimum they should be cleaned twice a year. Throughout the year your air exchanger will get packed full of bugs, pollen, and mold. If you do not clean it, residue will build up on the filters causing it to run inefficiently and send dirty air throughout your home.
